Developed 3 generations of embedded waveform generators. System consisted of state machine controlled flash memory directly driving 50 MHz 16 bit DAC. First generation: two interleaved parallel NOR flash. Second generation: four interleaved parallel NAND flash. Third generation: four SPI serial flash using quad channel output. System can provide 8 million sample waveform at 50MHz.
Generator is used in control ion ejection of in a mass spectrometer trap.
Responsibilities included design, schematics, PCB layout, performance verification and initial state machine implementations in CPLD/FPGA.
